Bicycle - Gears and Chains
When the someone cycles, he/she steps on the pedals and the pedals turn the front gear, and that gear is linked by a chain to the back gear which drives the wheel and thus making it move
Window - Linkages
There are several linkages along the metal part which allows the movement of the window to open and close .
Scissors - Levers
Effort is put in at the handles, it pivots at the fulcrum and the load will be at the front which would be cut. Its the first class lever.
Acoustic Guitar Capo - Linkages
The linkages help the movement of the capo around specific fretboard of the guitar.
Clip - Lever
Its the same as the scissors, pushing the ends is the effort and it pivots at the fulcrum and when you let go, the load is in front being clipped.
Situation - Mini wobbly table at home
I have a wobbly table I got from IKEA about a year back? As time goes by, the mechanism or the pivoting point of the table is not so secure and sometimes when I use it, it just gets lose and the table falls. Actually I was using this while doing my eLearning work and the table actually fell then.
Solution - Linkages
They should include linkages around the legs like the first ADMT task for the table. The mechanism would not be so loose and the the table would not fall. The table would be more stable with linkages and things on top of it like my MacBook just now would not be under the risk of getting spoilt when it falls.
